Outpatient Radiology Development

We have proven that the foundation of every successful outpatient radiology program is solid due diligence. Comprehensive, timely, and accurate information leads to informed decisions. Informed decisions precipitate successful projects. Thus, we utilize two proprietary due diligence products for radiology programs: A market feasibility product called the Volume Assessment and Analysis™ and a financial modeling program called the Financial Analysis Package™

Provider Based Radiology Joint Ventures (Hospital-Radiologist)

Radiologists:

  • Does it make sense to consider partnering with your local hospital to alleviate the technical reimbursement cuts?

Facility Planning and Design

The MIS approach to radiology space design is based on fundamental workflow principles and the creation of an environment that facilitates operational efficiencies and supports the delivery of superior patient service. To date, we have been involved with the programmatic and architectural design of over 20 facilities. In addition, we offer the benefit of having actual operational and management experience in many of the facilities we helped design. This has significantly enhanced our ability to assist clients in designing exceptional radiology delivery settings.

Key design concepts include:

  • Space allocations that facilitate staff cross training
  • Tech work space designs that facilitate efficiencies
  • Staff and patient traffic segregation
  • Multi-designation design in a single facility.

Development, Startup, and Interim Management

We provide a full scope of services ranging from programmatic design of imaging centers and radiology departments, equipment planning and procurement and staffing plans to ongoing management oversight of the project once operational. Our level of involvement is strictly dependent on the needs of our clients.

Hospital - Group Practice Relationship Management

We have been involved with numerous projects involving the resolution of disputes between hospitals and radiology groups as well as the facilitation of more collaborative efforts between parties. In most cases, these types of situations are extremely challenging and require extensive expertise regarding the business aspects of radiology services as well as clinical implications. We assure both parties that they will be provided with objective, data-driven information from which decisions can be made.

Strategic Planning

Our team has extensive domain expertise in navigating through the challenges and issues specific to radiology in both the hospital and freestanding environments. Specifically, we assist with the development and implementation of system-wide initiatives specifically related to hospital-based service lines, including revenue opportunities, managing costs, appropriating technology, and establishing service excellence. These initiatives can be clearly defined in a radiology services strategic plan. Key elements of the plan include:

  • Identification and assessment of hospital based service revenue opportunities.
  • Establishment of service level benchmarks and associated pay.
  • Identification and assessment of medical staff requirements.
  • Identification and assessment of cost management programs involving radiology workflow, tracking and monitoring systems, inventory management, and cost accounting methodologies.
  • Identification and assessment of a technology procurement plan.
